Dermal Fillers

The effects of time, sun exposure and other factors cause our skin to lose volume resulting in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. At Plastic Surgery of Virginia Beach we offer a wide variety of injectable dermal fillers to help soften lines, enhance facial features and create a more youthful appearance. The use of dermal fillers can be of benefit to those who are not yet surgical candidates but want to slow the aging process and for individuals who have had surgery, but are not ready for further surgery. Although injectable fillers can do a lot to enhance a person's appearance they are temporary in nature and not a replacement for surgery.
As well as being valuable in the anti-aging campaign, dermal fillers can be used to enhance facial features by improving the shape and fullness of lips. They can also be used to make subtle changes in the nose and areas around the eyes.
Every year thousands of individuals successfully undergo treatment with dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Prevelle Silk, Radiesse and Restylane.. The decision to pursue injections is a very personal and important one. The factors that will affect your decision and outcome are unique to you. Our experience and expertise can make your choice a little easier. You can find out if this procedure is right for you by contacting our office for a consultation.
During your consultation Dr. Bounds will assess your skin tone, skin elasticity and furrow depth. After listening to your expectations and desires, he will make a recommendation as to the type of dermal filler which is most appropriate for your needs. All injections are given by Dr. Bounds in his office and most people find they can return to normal activities immediately after having the injections.
HYDRELLE
Hydrelle is here! It is the latest dermal filler to be released into the aesthetics market and is a natural, comfortable, long-lasting way to fill facial wrinkles so you can maintain a more youthful appearance. It can be used for reduction of nasolabial folds (smile lines), marionette lines as well as other wrinkles on the face. This FDA approved Hyaluronic Acid (HA) filler has a higher concentration of the HA molecule with Lidocaine added. The higher concentration of HA molecules mean that 1cc of Hydrelle may provide more HA providing more volume and wrinkle correction than some of the other HA fillers. The addition of Lidocaine means that patients who require several shots in the same area for fine contouring will have less pain and more comfort during the procedure.
PREVELLE SILK
Dr. Bounds is excited to offer Prevelle Silk, the newest filler available to minimize the effects of aging and add volume to the lips and face. Prevelle Silk is the first in a new line of hyaluronic dermal fillers containing lidocaine which makes the treatment more comfortable than that with other fillers. Prevelle Silk provides immediate results that last approximately six months. Call us and find out how to be ready today for tonight.
JUVEDERM
Another of the newer products in our line of dermal fillers, is Juvederm which provides another
option for producing younger looking, wrinkle free skin. This new FDA approved treatment is also made from hyaluronic acid and requires no skin testing prior to its use. Effects last nine to twelve months depending upon the areas treated and patients will see immediate changes.
RADIESSE
Radiesse is another option in the arsenal of anti-aging fillers. Radiesse is a safe injectable treatment which helps reduce the appearance of well defined creases and wrinkles. Comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite, the mineral component in our bones and teeth, this filler last approximately nine to fourteen months and provides immediate results.
RESYTLANE
Restylane is the safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler for instant wrinkle correction. Restoring volume and fullness in moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, it is safely used in problematic areas such as nasolabial folds. It is also used to plump up and shape lips giving them a natural fullness. Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid found naturally in human tissue. Treatments would typically be scheduled twice a year.
