Surgery of the Nose (Rhinoplasty)
Surgery of the nose is one of the most
common of all plastic surgery procedures. It is performed to enhance one’s cosmetic appearance and to
correct functional breathing disorders.
The best candidates are people who are looking to improve upon
their looks, not searching for perfection.
Working from inside the nose, a plastic surgeon can reduce the size
of the nose, straighten or thin the bridge, define the tip of the nose, or
narrow the nostrils. Unbalanced, crooked or curved noses can be straightened and
made more symmetrical. By
modifying and reshaping the bone and cartilage the plastic surgeon can
help you attain the most attractive results.
If you’re considering rhinoplasty, the process begins with the
consultation. Most plastic
surgeons will not operate on teenagers until after their growth spurt,
approximately age 14-15 for girls, a little later for boys.
After assessing your overall health a plan can be formulated to
achieve the best result for you.
