Laser Skin Resurfacing
     Lasers have revolutionized skin resurfacing and plastic surgery of the eyelids and face. Laser skin resurfacing reduces wrinkles without the use of scalpels or stitches. The laser emits a fine beam of energy that heats and vaporizes tissues, leaving the normal surrounding tissue alone. Layer by layer the laser beam gently removes fine lines and wrinkles and leaves the face smoother, softer, and with a more youthful appearance.

     Laser skin resurfacing may be performed on the whole face, or just in specific regions. The ideal candidate for laser resurfacing is an individual who is healthy with fair, non-oily skin. If you’re considering laser skin resurfacing, the process begins with the consultation. At that time Dr. Bounds will assess your overall health and the physical characteristics of your face such as skin integrity, elasticity and wrinkle depth. He will then make a recommendation to achieve the most pleasing result for you.

The Process
     As an outpatient, Dr. Bounds and his Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist have your comfort in mind. After surgery in his Operating Suite, you will awake from the surgery in the Recovery Room, attended by a Registered Nurse. Once you’re fully awake you may then go home with a family member or trusted close friend.

     Typically, you can return to light activities immediately. After about two weeks women will be able to safely apply makeup.
