Facelift and Laser Resurfacing
Rhytidectomy, also called a facelift, is
doubtless the most famous procedure in Plastic Surgery. The facial expressions
that give your face character can also leave deep wrinkles and lines.
Sun damage, smoking, cold winters, tension, alcohol and the inevitable
aging process all change the shape and characteristics of your face. With
todays new surgical techniques and advancements, facelifts now last
longer than before and have a more natural-looking outcome. A facelift
improves sagging facial skin and removes jowls and loose neck skin. It
keeps you looking as good as you can, for as long as you can.
If youre considering a facelift, the
process begins with the consultation. In assessing your overall health
and the physical characteristics of your face, a plan can be formulated
to achieve the best result for you.
Is this right for me?

The Surgery
As an outpatient, Dr. Bounds and his
Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist have your safety and comfort in mind.
After surgery in the Operating Suite, you will awake from the surgery
in the Recovery Room, attended by a Registered Nurse. Once youre
fully awake you may then go home with a family member or trusted close
friend.
Typically, you should be able to return
to work within ten days to two weeks, depending on the level of activity
required for your job. Aerobic activities, alcohol, steam baths and
saunas may be restricted for several months. Dr. Bounds staff will
instruct you, at your follow-up appointment, on the effective use
of camouflage makeup.
