DERMAL FILLERS 

The effects of time, sun exposure and other factors cause our skin to lose volume resulting in the appearance of lines and wrinkles.  At Plastic Surgery of Virginia Beach we offer a wide variety of injectable fillers to help soften lines, enhance facial features and create a more youthful appearance.   The use of dermal fillers can be of benefit to those who are not yet surgical candidates but want to slow the aging process.   Individuals who have had surgery, but are not ready for further surgery, can also benefit from dermal fillers.

As well as being valuable in the anti-aging campaign, dermal fillers can be used to enhance facial features by improving the shape and fullness of lips and/or make subtle changes in the nose and areas around the eyes.

If you are considering injectable fillers, the process begins with a consultation with  Dr. Bounds. He will assess  your skin tone, skin elasticity and furrow depth.  After listening to your expectations and desires, he will make a recommendation as to the type of dermal filler which is most appropriate for your needs. All injections are given by Dr. Bounds and most people find they can return to normal activities immediately after having the injections.  
 

RESYTLANE

Restylane is the safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler for instant wrinkle correction. Restoring volume and fullness in moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, it is safely used in problematic areas such as nasolabial folds. It is also used to plump up and shape lips giving them a natural fullness. Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid found naturally in human tissue. Treatments would typically be scheduled twice a year.

JUVEDERM

One of the newest in our line of dermal fillers, Juvederm provides another option for producing younger looking, wrinkle free skin.  This new FDA approved treatment is also made from hyaluronic acid and requires no skin testing prior to its use.  Effects last six months or more, depending upon the areas treated. 

RADIESSE

Radiesse is another option in the arsenal of anti-aging fillers.  Radiesse is a safe injectable treatment which helps reduce the appearance of well defined creases and wrinkles.  Comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite, the mineral component in our bones and teeth, this filler last approximately nine to fourteen months  and provides immediate results.
