Breast Reduction
Large, oversized breasts can dominate any
womans appearance and cause pain, difficulty in breathing, backaches
and at the extreme, distort the posture. Overly large breasts make exercise
difficult and can limit a womans range of motion. Breast reduction
reduces the size and reshapes oversized breasts by removing excess skin
and underlying tissues. An oversized areola (the darker skin around the
nipple) can be made smaller at the same time.
The best candidate for surgery is a woman
whose weight is near normal and stable. Breast reduction is considered
a permanent procedure, though breasts can still increase in size in the
event of weight gain, birth control pills or pregnancy.
If youre considering breast reduction,
the process begins with the consultation. In assessing your overall health
and the physical characteristics of your breasts (such as the size, volume,
symmetry, skin characteristics and nipple position) a plan can be formulated
to achieve the best result for you.
