Botulinum Toxin A (Botox)
     The Botulinum toxin A (Botox) serum is an agent that has been used therapeutically in humans for over twenty years. For the past several years Plastic Surgeons have successfully used Botox for a variety of aesthetic facial procedures. Botox limits the activity of certain overactive facial muscles. It has been especially effective in the overactive muscles which lead to deep forehead furrows, crows feet lines, aging neck condition, and problematic facial wrinkling around the mouth. Botox injections can provide a four to six month remedy to smooth out the problematic facial lines. It can temporarily minimize the effects of aging. When used around the eye, botox injections can mimic a browlift.

     The best candidates for Botox injection are individuals who are not yet surgical candidates. Individuals who have had surgery, but are not yet candidates for further surgery, can also benefit from Botox injections. Although most people are happy with their results, Botox injections are temporary in nature and are not a replacement for surgery.
